Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. launches the 2025 downtown summer season! 

Tuesday, May 6, 2025 – Downtown Moncton – Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. (DMCI)  launched the 2025 summer season today in downtown Moncton at a press conference held at  the Crowne Plaza. Many exciting activities will be taking place in the heart of our downtown  during this summer season. 

Councillor Shawn Crossman kicked off the press conference by announcing some of the numerous  events happening in our downtown. 

  • The Acoustica Summer Concert Series returns with Tuesdays in Victoria Park, Thursdays  is Patio Fest, and Saturdays at the Moncton Market, with a very special Acoustica at the  Market on August 23rd. 
  • Whoa Canada! Canada Day festivities will take place on July 1 with headliners Matt Mays  and Beauxmont followed by the tri-community fireworks celebration, all taking place at  downtown Moncton’s Riverfront Park. 
  • The Atlantic Nationals are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. Join in the  festivities from July 9th to July 13th with a very special Friday and Saturday night party.
  • The BGC SparkFest celebrations continue this year on June 27th with Canadian  Multiculturalism Day to be held at the Riverfront Park. 
  • The Color Festival comes to us on July 26th at the Riverfront Park. 
  • New to Downtown Moncton this year is the Atlantic Jerk Fest from August 1st to August  3rd in Riverfront Park. 
  • Moncton’s Pride Festival will take place from August 1st to August 10th at the Riverfront  Park. 
  • Don’t miss the Atlantic Dance Festival from August 8th to August 12th.

Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc.’s Executive Director, Patrick Richard, emphasized that the  summer season is about more than just events. “What we’re really building is community,” he  said, highlighting the importance of creating shared experiences that bring people together and  foster a strong sense of belonging in the heart of the city. 

There are countless events and activities happening in our downtown this summer season. 

  • Patio Fest is officially kicking off it’s 4th season this summer, beginning on June 5th, each Thursday from 6pm to 8pm at a different patio throughout the downtown.
  • The Moncton Buskers Festival is returning for its 3rd season on July 18th to the 20th in  downtown’s Riverfront Park. 
  • Downtown Moncton’s Accent! program returns this summer, showcasing public art by  local artists throughout the downtown core and celebrating community through  creativity. 
  • The Arches of St. George is hosting a Spring Vintage Market at the Atrium, featuring  curated vendors with vintage finds on May 10th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Come and celebrate the new downtown Moncton hotspots.
    • El Rio rooftop cocktail bar by BRIX Experience located on the rooftop of Dolma on  St. George Street.
    • We are thrilled and proud to announce downtown Moncton’s latest addition.  Tony’s on Botsford will be opening very soon. Stay tuned to their Facebook and  Instagram accounts for Grand Opening details.
  • Downtown Moncton Gift Cards are a great way to shop local, give local, and celebrate  local—perfect for the summer season, and ideal gifts for Mother’s Day or any special  occasion. 

Sophie Auffrey of Resurgo Place is pleased to announce a dynamic slate of summer programming  for 2025, offering fun and meaningful ways to explore Moncton’s rich heritage. Starting in July,  Riverfront Walks will guide visitors through local history every Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Bore  Park, while Resurgo on the GO! brings pop-up heritage chats, quizzes, and giveaways to city  landmarks on select Saturdays. Daily Tidal Bore Presentations will also take place at Bore Park,  approximately 30 minutes before the daytime bore, throughout July and August. At the museum,  Walk-in Wednesdays begin in June, welcoming guests to explore historical archives at the  Reginald Ward Resource Centre every Wednesday afternoon. From May 17 to September 7,  visitors can also enjoy a special exhibition, “What does it mean to come from Moncton?”,  celebrating the legacy of Acadian writer Gérald Leblanc through immersive recreations of his  favourite city spots.

Xavier Richard, on behalf of the Aberdeen Cultural Centre and Acadie Rock, was thrilled to  announce the return of Acadie Rock from August 14 to 17, including a major August 15  celebration at Riverfront Park in great partnership with the City of Moncton. The Backyard Menu also returns from August 4 to 17, giving residents more time to enjoy local food and drink. Thanks  to our partners, team, and volunteers for helping us showcase a vibrant, inclusive, and  contemporary Acadie. 

Jenna Morton was thrilled to announce that the 19th annual Greater Moncton Highland Games  & Scottish Festival will take place from June 10-14, 2025. Leading up to the main event, enjoy  free community concerts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, before the big day on Saturday.  This year, the festival’s Saturday events are free for everyone to attend, offering a fantastic  opportunity to experience the rich culture and traditions of the Scottish community in the heart  of Greater Moncton. 

Greg Turner announced the return of the Rotary Rib Fest, celebrating 15 years of bringing  mouthwatering barbecue to downtown Moncton from June 19th to 22nd. This year’s event will  feature delicious ribs, local vendors, and musical entertainment, all highlighting the best of  Canadian meat and workers. The Rotary Rib Fest has become a beloved tradition, offering a great  opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy fantastic food, music, and local flavors  in the heart of downtown. 

Alison Frise announced the 20th anniversary of MAGMA’s MOSAIQ Festival, which will feature  significant changes this year, shifting from a two-day festival to a year-round celebration. Kicking  off the festivities, on June 27th, MOSAIQ will host a Human Library event at the Moncton Library,  where people become the “books” in an interactive experience. On June 28th, join the celebration  with a special concert featuring Sistema NB from 2-4 p.m. at Victoria Park, with a community BBQ  beforehand. From July to September, the Downey Street Night Market will take place on the third  Thursday of each month, offering unique local products and entertainment. The celebration will  culminate with the Parade of Nations on September 6th at 10 a.m., showcasing the rich diversity  of the community. 

Alix Caissie of Kept on Main was excited to announce several special events at the shop this  season. A Mother’s Day giveaway basket will be available from May 1st to 10th, offering a perfect  gift for any mom. On May 10th, the shop will host a permanent jewelry pop-up and a candle making workshop, providing a unique experience for attendees. Kept on Main will also celebrate  the arrival of summer with a Summer Market on June 7th, featuring in-store and Oak Lane  activities, including games, an ice cream truck, and a lemonade stand for the whole family to  enjoy.

Jonathan Astley of Sistema NB is excited to bring its vibrant music festival, Pops NB, back to  downtown Moncton this summer. Launched in 2009, Sistema NB now serves 1,200 children  across New Brunswick, using music to foster positive social change. This year, Pops NB will feature  free, accessible concerts across the downtown, including performances at Victoria Park on June  24 (Acoustica Concert Series), Bore Park on June 26, and City Hall Plaza on June 27. The festival  will culminate in a Mainstage Finale Concert on June 28 at Victoria Park, in collaboration with  MAGMA for the Mosaïq Festival, featuring the Sistema NB Children’s Orchestra and the New  Brunswick Youth Orchestra. Pops NB is a celebration of community, music, and the power of the  arts to transform lives. 

Melissa Drisdelle of DMCI brought the press conference to a close by encouraging everyone to  support local businesses, and discover the charming retail vendors that make downtown  Moncton such a vibrant and welcoming destination.
