Its owner, Ginette Robichaud, tells us a little about herself, her shop and what led to her success.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”5095″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Tell me a bit about yourself.
My name is Ginette Robichaud and I am from Colette near Rogersville. I studied in Moncton to be a secretary when I finished high school. Then, I worked for Fisheries and Oceans and moved to Saint John. Four years later, I moved back to Moncton and worked in a dental clinic for 18 years. After that, I opened my shop.
What is Boutique 2ᵉ Look?
Boutique 2ᵉ Look is a small consignment shop. The boutique will have been open for 11 years on June 21st. When we celebrated our 10th year anniversary, I started buying new items.
What is in a consignment shop?
In a consignment shop, there is merchandise that people bring by appointment. We only accept good quality items, which are less than two years old.
Our shop contains men’s and women’s clothing. We are looking for a certain quality of fabrics – natural fibres, especially.
You can find items such as clothes, shoes, jewelry, coats, handbags; anything fashion.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”5097″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]How did everything begin?
It all started because I was inspired by fashion. I was interested in sewing, fabrics and colours.
When I was young, I had a lot of trouble in school. It was not easy for me in school and in college. Over time, my husband told me, “It’s time for you to do something that represents you.”
That’s when I left my job and opened Boutique 2ᵉ Look. My goal was to dress women and make them feel good about themselves.
What inspired you to open your own business?
My mother was my greatest inspiration. When we were young, we were poor – that was the norm in my time. My mother was a self-taught seamstress. She recreated clothes in a very unique way. When she had small pieces left, she taught me how to sew. I have always been interested in colours and fibres. It inspired me to be where I am today.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”5099″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Ginette Robichaud has regained her confidence by opening Boutique 2ᵉ Look. She has never been afraid to work hard, which has helped her overcome many challenges since opening the store in 2008. She defines herself as a woman with a lot of energy who likes to help people.
Ginette is proud to be part of St. George Street and downtown Moncton. Opening her shop was the best decision of her life.
