Job Title: Downtown Beautification Assistant (Summer Student)
Location: Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc., 770 Main Street, Suite 802, Moncton, NB
Duration: Summer 2026
Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week)
Wage: $16/hour
Availability: Evenings and weekends required
Reports To: Ron LeBlanc, Operations Manager, 506-857-2991
Overview:
Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. is seeking a motivated and reliable summer student to join our team as a Downtown Beautification Assistant. This position focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming downtown through daily maintenance and beautification efforts.
The successful candidate will contribute to creating a positive environment for businesses, residents, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily litter pickup, sweeping, and tidying of sidewalks, alleyways, and public spaces
- Assist with seasonal beautification initiatives such as planters, flowers, and minor landscaping
- Support upkeep of gathering areas to ensure safety, accessibility, and a welcoming atmosphere
- Serve as a visible ambassador for the downtown by promoting civic pride and a positive public image
- Report maintenance concerns or hazards to the DMCI team in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and ability to perform outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and public presentation
- Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Friendly, approachable, and community-minded attitude
