However, it also contains something more during this summer season. Until September 8th, you will find the temporary exhibit Cultivating your inner garden by Les Hookeuses du Bor’de’lo.
The works presented in this gallery are about the same subject, but they are all unique and explore different techniques and expressions. The idea behind the theme is to share what nourishes and fascinates the artist.
Each member of the group Les Hookeuses du Bor’de’lo has the right to exhibit a total of three works of art. Although the main material of the group is the hooked carpet, the artists are not limited to the traditional technique of this art.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”5458″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]“Everyone has an evolutionary style; we are a little less traditional.” – Marie-Claude Hébert
This special exhibit was chosen to celebrate the Congrès mondial acadien, which is fast approaching this year in the southeastern region of New Brunswick as well as in Prince Edward Island. Resurgo Place is the ideal place given the size of the hall and its location in the heart of the city of Moncton.
Sophie Auffrey, Heritage Development Officer at Resurgo Place, shares that the exhibit has been very well received so far and there is hope that there will be a lot of interest during the Congrès mondial acadien.
“People love it. […] With the help of social media, our e-newsletter and interviews on the radio, we were able to share the word and people are curious. You can try to practise hooked carpet technique. On-site interpreter-guides can demonstrate and explain the technique.
The public is invited to hook a small square on the large canvas that is on-site, and when the exhibit is over, the group The Hookeuses Bor’de’lo will add a border to it to present it as a work.
As part of the Congrès mondial acadien, Resurgo Place is organizing a celebration of the exhibit on August 16, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be food and refreshments. In addition, artists will be on hand to talk about their work.
