Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. launches the 2024 downtown holiday season! 

(Wednesday, November 13, 2024 – Downtown Moncton) – Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc.  (DMCI) launched the 2024 holiday season today in downtown Moncton at a press conference  held at the Delta Beauséjour. Many exciting activities will be taking place in the heart of our  downtown during this holiday season. 

Mayor Dawn Arnold kicked off the press conference by reminding everyone about some of the  numerous events happening in our downtown. 

  • Atlantic Slam is happening on November 16th at the Avenir Centre and great seats are still  available. 
  • The FICFA festival will take place on November 19th to November 24th.
  • The Avenir Centre will host an International Hockey Exhibition Game on Thursday,  December 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM, featuring a matchup between Team Slovakia and Team  Germany. 
  • Join the Mayor and City Council for hot chocolate and cookies on the evening of the  parade at City Hall. 

Mayor Arnold urged all to remember those facing challenges this holiday season and to lend a  helping hand to those in need. A special welcome to newcomers as they embark on new  traditions and embrace the magic of the holiday season. Support your community this holiday  season by shopping local and discovering everything the downtown has to offer. 

Alex Thorne, General Manager of Delta Beausejour, is excited to announce the launch of  Moncton’s first indoor Christmas Forest, now open in the hotel lobby. The forest features fresh cut trees, perfect for holiday photos or dropping off your letter to Santa. Visitors can also enjoy  festive drinks, a seasonal buffet at The Bar, or a holiday dinner at the Windjammer restaurant.  Christmas at the Beau is open to everyone—whether you’re staying with us or simply stopping  by. Join us in celebrating the magic of the season!

DMCI’s Executive Director, Patrick Richard, announced Downtown Moncton Centre-ville’s annual  20% off gift card sale. The sale begins on Thursday, November 14th until Friday, November 15th,  while quantities last. These gift cards are sold online at downtownmoncton.com or at the  Downtown Moncton office (8th floor of the Assumption building) on Thursday and Friday from 9  a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit downtownmoncton.com or DMCI’s social media accounts for more  information and for a list of participating businesses. 

There are countless events and activities happening in our downtown this holiday season. 

  • The Arches of St. George is hosting four holiday pop-up events at the Atrium, featuring  local vendors with handmade gifts on the following dates: November 23 (10:00 AM – 3:00  PM), November 30 (5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, evening event featuring Locally handmade  Christmas Tree Ornaments), December 7 (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM), and December 14 (10:00  AM – 3:00 PM). 
  • The Canvas Hotel is thrilled to announce the 3rd Annual Sleigh the Holidays Market,  featuring over 30 local vendors in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Moncton.  Celebrate the season with festive shopping, community fun, and giving back on Saturday,  November 30, from 10 AM to 2 PM—admission is free!  
  • Brix Experience is hosting three festive events this December. On December 15, join the  Kids Gingerbread Party from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, where they’ll make and decorate  gingerbread shapes while enjoying hot cocoa and holiday music. On December 21, adults can enjoy two classes: Croquembouche from 12:00 PM to 3:00  PM, where you’ll learn to make profiteroles, with wine and hors d’oeuvres. Then, from  6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the Beef Wellington class will teach you to make stuffed mushrooms,  Beef Wellington, and Black Forest Cake.

  • Happy Craft Brewery is excited to host our Christmas Market on December 1st from 1-5  PM, with free entry for all! The event will feature local vendors, offering unique holiday  gifts and treats, alongside live music by Andrew Moore. 
  • Kept on Main is hosting a cozy Winter Market on November 16, creating a warm shopping  experience just in time for the holiday season.

Pierre Babineau, Organizing Committee Member for Aura announced the launch of Aura: A  Moncton Holiday Experience, a magical event transforming the Moncton Market into a holiday  wonderland on December 5th, 12th, and 19th from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Enjoy live music, fire pits,  holiday movies, carolers, cocktail-making classes, and a mix of seasonal market vendors. Guests  can also support Crossroads for Women with gift-wrapping services, while celebrating the season  and supporting local businesses.

Join Resurgo Place and Symphony New Brunswick for a festive Holiday Concert with Ventus  Machina on November 24, 2024, at the Free Meeting House. Enjoy sing-alongs and holiday cheer  with Monette Gould, followed by a reception at Resurgo Place with warm cider and treats.  Registration required – details on resurgo.ca. 

Celebrate the season at the Thomas Williams House with a Holiday Tea on December 7, 8, 14, and  15. Indulge in organic teas, local treats, and live music in a beautifully decorated Victorian setting.  Reservation details will be posted on resurgo.ca. 

Geneviève Maltais announced that the Capitol Theatre is busy this holiday season, offering many  events to create lasting memories. On Santa Claus Parade day, families will enjoy two sold-out  performances of Frozen in Time. Later, from 4-6pm, join mascot Kevin for Hot Cocoa with Kevin  in the lobby. Holiday programming includes Christmas with The Ennis Sisters, The Celtic Tenors,  the Stadacona Band’s free holiday concert with David Myles, The Nutcracker, Noël avec Les  Muses, Belivo et Roland Gauvin, A Tyler Shaw Christmas, Choir! Choir! Choir!’s Un-Silent NightBarra MacNeils, and Les Gars du Nord. This winter, the Capitol Theatre and Tutta Musica  Orchestra present The Addams Family musical, with early bird tickets available until December  20th—an ideal gift! 

Jeff Leger of the Greater Moncton Progress Club is excited to announce the beginning of the  Holiday Season with its 22nd Annual Antler Breakfast, presented be SE Mutual Insurance. “We  are ecstatic to thank our partner host the Delta Beausejour for their continued support of the  event.” Don’t forget to get your tickets for the event and join the Greater Moncton Progress club  in raising funds to improve the lives of children in the Greater Moncton area. 

Natasha Ostaff, General Manager of Business Operations for the Moncton Wildcats, announced  that the team is on top of the CHL standings for the 6th week in a row with a 15-2-2 record. As we  push towards a Memorial Cup Championship, fans won’t want to miss the excitement during the  holiday period, with key home games scheduled for December 28 and December 31. As we gear  up for the New Year’s Eve Family Fun Fest, we encourage supporters to arrive early for the NYE  game, as last year’s event sold out quickly. Come cheer on the Wildcats as we push toward our  Memorial Cup goal and celebrate the season with us! 

Shane Esson introduced the return of the City of Moncton’s New Year’s Eve Family Fun Fest on  December 31 from 2 p.m. to midnight at Downtown Place. The event, presented by the Moncton  Wildcats, features live music from Signal Hill and Les Hay Babies, a Moncton Wildcats game, a  United Way barbecue, and two fireworks displays, including an early show at 7:15 p.m. This  family-friendly celebration offers fun for all ages and is made possible by local sponsors and  businesses. Join us for the annual Royale Greater Moncton Santa Claus Parade on November 23, 2024, at 5:00  p.m., celebrating this year’s “Festival of Lights” theme. Bring food items for the local food bank  and your letters for Santa as we light up the streets and bring the community together in the spirit  of the season.
