Street closures due to construction

Asphalt paving on Lewis Street and Queen Street

The City of Moncton wishes to advise the motoring public of the following:

  • Lewis Street, between Main Street and Queen Street, will be closed to thru traffic from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018
  • Queen Street, between Steadman Street and Botsford Street, will see lane reductions from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19 and Wednesday, June 20, 2018

These street deviations are necessary to allow asphalt paving operation. Detours will be in place for the closure and delays are to be expected in these areas as traffic will be slowed.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and the motoring public.

Road closure on Lester Street – Between Victoria Street and Queen Street

The City of Moncton wishes to advise the motoring public that Lester Street, between Victoria and Queen Street, will be closed to through traffic from Monday, April 23 to mid-June, weather permitting.

This street closure is necessary for the reconstruction of Lester Street.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and the motoring public.

Street closures due to events

Atlanticade and Ribfest Road Closures

The City of Moncton wishes to advise the motoring public of delays or detours in the following areas to accommodate the Atlanticade Motorcycle Festival and Rotary Ribfest event happening from June 21 to June 24, 2018.

Street Closure:

From 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 21 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 24

  • Closure of the eastbound lane of Assomption Boulevard from Lutz Street to Downing Street.
    • Intersections of Assomption/Lutz and Assomption/Westmorland will remain open.
    • Traffic travelling south on Westmorland Street will still be able to turn right and head west on Assomption or straight into the Press Club.
  • Closure of the westbound lane of Assomption Boulevard from Main Street to Westmorland Street.
    • Access to Blue Cross parking, Moncton Law Courts, condos, and RCMP station via Mechanic Street.
  • Closure of Downing Street from Assomption Boulevard to Sommet Lane.

The city is asking motorists to use alternate routes when at all possible, and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, but also encourages travellers to check out the events.

Noise By-Law exemption: 

On Thursday, June 21, Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23, an exemption has been granted to allow the Ribfest and Atlanticade entertainment to occur as planned between 11 p.m. and midnight, in Riverfront Park.
