Street closures due to construction

Street reconstruction on Lewis Street – Between Main Street and Queen Street

The City of Moncton wishes to advise the motoring public that Lewis Street, between Main Street and Queen Street, will remain closed to through traffic until mid-September, weather permitting.

This closure is necessary to allow the reconstruction of Lewis Street. Detours will be in place and delays are to be expected in the area as traffic will be slowed.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and the motoring public.

Closure of Orange Lane entrance to City Hall parking lot

The City of Moncton wishes to advise the motoring public that the City Hall parking lot entrance on Orange Lane will be closed effective July 25, 2017 for a period of approximately one month, weather permitting.

The closure is to accommodate the street reconstruction project on Queen Street, which includes water and sewer renewals.

In order to maintain public access to the City Hall parking lot, the entrance and exit on Botsford Street will become the main access to the lot.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and the motoring public.

Street closures due to events

Downtown Dances Event Road Closure

The City of Moncton wishes to advise the motoring public of delays or detours in the following areas to accommodate the Atlantic Ballet Downtown Dances happening on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Rain date: Thursday August 24, 2017

Street Closure:

  • From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday August 23, 2017:
    • Main Street from Lutz Street to Mechanic Street, leaving the intersection of Main/Lutz and Main/Mechanic open.
    • Downing St. from Main St. to Assomption Blvd.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, but also encourages travellers to check out the events.

 

River of Pride Parade Road Closure

The City of Moncton wishes to advise the motoring public of delays or detours in the following areas to accommodate the happening of the River of Pride Parade!

Street Closures:

  • From 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017:

o   Foundry Street from Record Street to Main Street for the parade line-up and staging

  • From 1:15 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017:

o   Main Street from Bonaccord Street to Mechanic Street and Downing Street from Main Street to Assomption Boulevard for parade

The parade will proceed east on Main Street from Foundry Street to Downing Street, to end at Riverfront Park.

The duration of the parade closure will be approximately one hour and the street will reopen as the parade progresses
